Ciska to paralympic dressage rider Demi Vermeulen

Paralympic dressage amazone Demi Vermeulen became the ride of my talented 10-year-old Mare Ciska II (v. Samba Hit II). I accompany the combination until the (international) debut in Roosendaal at the end of May.

About 3 years ago, Ciska came to us and I brought her to ZZ-class. I've driven many beautiful competitions with Ciska, it's a super handsome, sweet and good mare with a great walk and trot, just what Demi needs. Ciska has had a bad time in the last year, among other things, a major surgery due to a breakdown of teeth. Demi and I came to talk on an evening of our joint sponsor (Countrymill Horsesupport Nijkerk) about her long search for a suitable Grade III horse. Later, I thought Ciska could fit. I was still making plans about the future of this elite sports mare, my breeding is on hold, so we gave it a trie. There immediately was a click between those two, that was very beautiful to see.

Making miles

Herman van der Bunt of Countrymill made the special saddle of Demi Vermeulen again suitable for Ciska II (photo). The training in the preperation to the debut of the combination is under way. That means for Demi, for the time being, to make the necessary miles, by horse, but also from her hometown Zevenaar up and down to me in Raalte. Demi says: "I'd love to do it! I've been looking for a suitable horse for so long, and then this came on my way. It immediately clicked, once in saddle I drove Ciska away, really great. "

It is intended that Ciska II will eventually move to dressage stables Van Baalen, where Demi Vermeulen wants to work on her road to Tokyo 2020.
